Today I got the following. A Strathearn vase, A Royal Brierley Studio vase, , Caithness perfume bottle, Isleof Wight Perfume bottle, Huge Chance glass Handkerchief vase and an Orrefors candle holder all for the princely sum of £9.60. Considering I nearly stayed in bed because it was raining......

Wonderful items, Pat! What a find.
I am interested in the 2 perfume bottles if you are looking to sell them. My e-mail is in my profile or on my homepage linked below :D

Blimey as you say well worth getting out of bed for. I particularly like the Orrefors bit and the Brierley vase, but a great mornings booting.
I actually dragged myself out and did a boot this morning and although very few folks around with the weather not being too good still had some good sales and took more than the last 2 antique fairs which speaks volumes about what people want at present.

Well I really only collect Scandinavian glass and Whitefriars but I think that particular stunning Strathearn vase is staying here with me!!

In view of the discussion in another thread "Origins of the studio glass movement" http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6207.0.html
it may interest you to know that this Royal Brierley Studio vase, which from memory was originally made in the mid 1980's has a connection with Mike Harris!
When David Williams Thomas of Royal Brierley decided to develop the Royal Brierley Studio range, which was quite a radical departure from their main area of expertise, he asked Mike Harris to act as a consultant.

I'm really geolous as I've had a really bad day at the Car boot.
I bought a retro Italian all in one glass lamp and and either a Jobling vase or a Czeck vase as well.
I put a chip in the lamp by clanging it against the vase.
Later, I found the vase to be clouded badly.
Probably well worth staying in bed without.

But think of the good days tiger! I rarely get a day this good :D
And thank you to Adam for the info.

Car boot finds like this are going to get a lot harder soon. See the UK "Observer" newspaper today "Business and Media" section page 16 ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS- article entitled "Glass comes out of the charity shop and into the money"
-
Adam, thanks for the info on the connection between Royal Brierley and Michael Harris.
Another thread where they were recently discussed.
