I've searched through all the old threads and trolled the net, but still non the wiser.
This posy is 8" in diameter and 3" in height. I only found out that it reacted to UV light when I was testing another item.
It has a polished pontil and, as you can see the edge is not round but wavy and the bottom part is internally ribbed.
Any ideas please?

Hi Della :-*
I suspect this might just be a lot of manganese in the batch. There is blue uranium glass out there, and pink, but it's not common.
Christine has taught me the "6 foot test" to tell whether something is truly uranium or just a lot of manganese. Shine your torch on the thing and back away until you're about 6 feet from the item. If it still glows, it's uranium.

Yes, Sue, it glows even with my teeny tiny key ring torch. x

Nice one Della and very unusual. Blue uranium usually has a hint of green
-
No, Christine, it is as blue as the photo shows. The only green bit I noticed when I bought it for 50p was the oasis that was stuffed inside it :P
It was totally by accident that I noticed.

It's a mystery... I'm getting my popcorn and sitting back. ;)
