Title: Coalbourne HIll Glassworks
Post by: flying free on May 06, 2016, 08:08:40 PM
I couldn't find any threads on here about this glassworks.
I came across this information today

'Glass furniture from companies like Osler (and its British competitors, Defries & Sons and the Coalbourne Hill Glass Works) had another distinct advantage. Because the glass cutting was geometric, not figural, the decoration was acceptable to Muslim rulers.'
Source:  NY Times 16 June 2006

This appears to say they produced glass furniture and were competitors to Osler

There are quite a few topic threads about the Coalbourn [sic.] Hill Glass Works at Wordsley and their registered designs (mostly referenced under 'Joseph Webb or 'Jane Webb and the executors of the late Joseph Webb...', and also to their links with Edward Moore & Co. of South Shields), such as

Thanks Fred.

Having read the intro on your link I shall try and find the article again, but I think it was post 1850 items they were discussing.
I've amended the Subject to have both spellings now.
