Title: FUSED GLASS DISH ASHTRAY MURANO?
Post by: Ayesha1938 on May 15, 2016, 06:48:47 PM
I've search on line for awhile but can't find another glass work like the one in the photos.  I  can actually feel the crushed red glass when I run my fingers across the back.

It's approximately 8" in diameter, weighs 1 1/2 lbs. Looks like Italian glass, Murano?  Don't think it was made in China, but that's not always an easy call these days.

Any information or leads you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Tragically, fused glass is very hard to identify. It requires little technical set-up or skills, only ambition and a small oven. Therefore, ths type of glass is made all over, and it all looks alike. Thereis no telling if it was made in Israel, Basque country. Scotland, Portugal or Germany. Unless there is a signature- which is a rare event.
