Post by: selinkyble on May 23, 2016, 08:57:08 PM
Hello
Anyone recognise this partial sticky label on a crystal table lamp?

I think it may read foreign... just as I was wondering if it was English!

don't off-hand recognize the lamp, and would tend to agree with Robert's suggestion of the word FOREIGN.
As for age, it might help if you can see the type of wiring and lamp holder  -  these might give a clue as to whether modern or pre 1950, although could well not be the original parts anyway.
Such lamps were fashionable in the 1930 - 40 period, although I suppose they may well have been made since.         Always possible this example might be from Czechoslovakia.

HAHA yes I see what you mean about FOREIGN. The lamp is I should say c1930. Fitting is an older white metal (not the kind of flash chrome type thing you see in say a waterford lamp) and is marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" I thought perhaps it might have been Webb, looking at the bohemian type star pattern, then i saw the sticker ....
It's just under 14.5 inches tall
Any help would be most appreciated
