Title: Help to ID please. Vase / Goblet. Prunts x 2. European?
Post by: LambertPeckVintage on June 11, 2016, 10:31:51 AM
Does anybody have any ideas re this vessel. Has 2 prunts almost on opposite sides - raspberry style. Only similar I have seen suggests Roman but am wary. 5 1/4" (or 135mm) tall. Slightly iridescent. Rough pontil. Hollow into the base.
Thanks for any pointers.

Welcome to the message board.

Looks like a scavo vase - a technique used to give the appearance of age, could well be from Murano.

Here is a pink example, possibly made in the 1970s.

Thanks John. I didn't realise such a technique existed. Just to confuse glass collectors even more with dating or attributing pieces!!
