Title: Kosta Boda - Bertil Vallien help
Post by: Ben.unwin on June 19, 2016, 01:43:35 PM
I bought this lovely vase/bottle but can't seem to identify the pattern.
It's fully signed to the base B.Vallien 67 Boda ****** 6 letter word I can't identify.
I presume 67 was the year it was made but I don't know much more than that.
Any information welcome :)

It is supposed to read "Atelje" which is swedish for studio.
maybe someone will recognise the style, the type of signing, the finish and the overall impression. Because I don't.

Me neither but a quick google throws up a few pieces signed Boda Atelje. 67 may not refer to a date, it could be a pattern number.

Not a bad buy from a carboot sale!
Thanks for the translation, it did occur to me that it might be in a different language but still couldn't read it.
I've since found several that are similar in shape but none in the particular design.
Good idea with the pattern number, do we know when Bertil Vallien joined Kosta Boda?

He was already designing for Afors when the three companies including Boda and Kosta merged in 1976 to become Kosta Boda AB.
