Title: Glass Fishing Float Marks Identification
Post by: web44 on June 26, 2016, 04:10:50 PM
This is a 2.25" diameter free blown gl. fishing float with markings.  Lots of seed bubbles and "in the making" scars.
Any info. that would help with Iding its age and origin will be appreciated.
Does the markings make it desirable to collectors?

Here is a better image and illustration of the main mark.

As far as I know (which is not much) that is small for a European fishing float. Perhaps it is Japanese, they seemed to use a greater variety of shapes and sizes.

Manufacturers marks can be desirable for a float but shape, colour and probably size will be important too.

John maybe right the three horizontal lines are the number 3 in Japanese, it might relate to the size ? as for the other mark my Japanese is a bit rusty to help with that  ::) ;D ;D
