Title: Smoky Glass Geometric Pleated Bowl
Post by: drg642 on June 28, 2016, 10:54:44 PM
Hi, I've asked about this bowl on the ebay PGP board, and it was suggested that it might be Sklo, and that someone here may be able to help with identification.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The bowl is about 5 inches tall and 9 inches wide.  It is heavy, a little over 5 pounds, and good quality with a nice ring.  The glass is a smoky brown color, and the pleated design reminds me of origami folded paper.  Top edge and base edge are polished.  The little triangles on the base edge have quite a bit of wear.

hello  -  Sklo means glass in Czech, so yes it's sklo, and you're question then is asking is it made by one of the Sklo Union factories :)
Short answer is   ...    sorry, I don't know  -  can't see this pattern in my only book on Czechoslovakian pressed glass, but that's not remotely conclusive.
Pressed glass is a profusely common product and made throughout the world  -  but fingers crossed someone may be able to help you.

Is it pressed or is it cut?

Not sure.  Edges are crisp, but pressed I think.
