Title: Hello, and Help! Problem 1
Post by: seprates on July 13, 2006, 03:46:56 AM
This is my first time here, and came upon a recommendation from another forum.

HI all,

I'm looking for a little help here. I try to be careful and buy only those things that are I can reasonably expect to identify. However, sometimes I am in a buying mood, or something comes up that is probably a great deal, or just really nice, so I buy them. They are beginning to build up, so I am looking for a little help here. WIth your permission, I will post to this forum and hope someone can help. Some help with maker/age would be greatly appreciated. In some cases, I have lost what I have paid for them, so any reasonable thoughts on price would be greatly appreciated.

This shallow bowl was represented to me as czech glass. It is a nice dark red or marron, cut to clear. It is 6 7/8 inches across and 1 1/4 inches deep.

Thanks,

Tiny thumbnail gives little detail, but seeing from the very dark (almost black)  colour I would think the piece is fairly recent. It could have been made anywhere - this type of CTC was made in Servia, in Russia, in Poland, in Hungary and in the Czech Republic. Older pieces tend to be lighter in colour.

Sorry for the small thumbnail, I thought it would  be bigger.  I have added a gallery to give more detail.  I hope this helps
