Hi, I try to avoid buying damaged pieces but I just couldn't resist this one.
It's got a crack and I'm pretty sure its condition is terminal.
Apparently it should have been binned but for a small donation I was allowed to have it
Oval Bowl
L 20 cms
W 13 cms
H 11 cms
Wt 900gms
It has a polished pontil mark
There's quite a lot of base wear
Satin finish with some iridescence
Any help re its identity much appreciated- thanks for looking :)

That one's easy. Walsh Walsh Mother of Pearl, possibly missing a flower holder

Beat me to it, here's one similar ;D with a frilly rim.

and here's a leaf-shaped compote http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=1931

Hi John, so that's what mine used to look like--before it was dropped !
I try to console myself by thinking it's better to have an incomplete/ damaged version than not at all >:(
Many thanks for posting your pics- much appreciated :)

Now you've owned and handled one, you will be able to spot the bargain perfect one. They also often come in Canary Opalescent http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=2425
You knew it was something worth picking up, so well done

Hi Christine, so pleased I took it despite the damage, nothing beats having one in the flesh.
I shall be on the lookout !
Thanks for the info :)
