Is the rim cut and polished?

Thanks for your answer John,
the rim it is cut and polished, see attached picture.

before I blew up the pix I thought Maltese........... but looking closely it appears it's possibly an example of acid stain colouring?
Is the colour on the surface only, and has a sort of almost peeled paint look, then just might be one of those - I think Ivo has commented on their origin somewhere.
Of course ignore me if everyone knows what it really is :-\

Should there be a link there Paul? ???
-
there wasn't Rosie .............. partly because I was doubting myself, and partly due to the fact that I had a GA yesterday and still feeling a little dopey (what's new) and had gone for a snooze.
Do you agree with me then - that possibly this is acid colour staining?? I'll do the link if folk agree with me. ;)
-
It is a surface decor but not staining and not Maltese.
Hope your brain is less addled today
-
Thanks to you all! Do you have any idea how old it is or where it might originate?
-
thanks :) - not so much addled as fighting some localized discomfort for a day or so. o.k. we appear to be still searching for answers then ......
It's a bit vague to say 'it's recent', but possibly better to wait until we know what type of glass/décor it is - assuming we do get that far - unfortunately it's not always possible to identify every piece of glass shown on the GMB. Nonetheless, my opinion is that this is recent :)
