Any thoughts on this little chap. He came from an antique fair and I was told he was dug up from a bottle dump , but I will never know for sure.
Threaded screw top and a rounded convexed base. Looks like he may have been only part of something larger as some remains of glue / cement to base. Or maybe he was meant to rock around on his base when tapped.
Height just over 2" or 5cm.
As to age I do not really have a clue, I would have thought Victorian but could be some what newer.
Thanks Roy

is he a chef with an apron on and a wooden spoon? might he have been a container for some sort of Kitchen condiment sauce type thing?

I thought it might have been depicting a baby wearing a bib and holding a spoon - thus indicating some foodstuff for a very young person - really only guessing though.
Glass retrieved from dumps often shows some form of glass sickness, and surface wise this does look very clean. :-\

his apron is tied at the back no?
Novelty condiment bottle I think maybe?

Thanks
I could not decide myself whether he was a baby or a chef, but I would agree some type of novelty food condiment.
Thanks again Roy

Perhaps he was attached to a pottery version of his bottom half? with the top bit being where the sauce went - in glass for hygiene purposes?
