Title: Small vase with 3 polished sides
Post by: Torysa on August 14, 2016, 09:57:44 AM
Hi All ! Could somebody please help me with identifying this small unusual vase ? It's 12 cm (4.7 in) high , 9.5 cm (3.7 in) at its widest point and weighs 960 g (2.1 lb). It has three polished sides and also polished base , no signature.  Probably of Czech origin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Very nice!
Most probably made at Mstisov / later Karlovarske (Moser) glassworks. My Mstisov 1962 bowl by Vlastimil Svoboda seems to have identical colors, and so has this Vladimir Mika vase: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=39868.0 (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=39868.0)
Frantisek Zemek designed some cut pieces for Mstisov in the late 1950s, so maybe an avenue to explore further...

Hi Michael ,
Thank you very much for directing me to Zemek. I went through the old Frantisek Zemeks's catalogue and found a vase which is very similar to mine. Label of the picture says: Cut vase - 1956 Skrdlovice. Surprisingly, because the other cut vases in the catalogue are from Mstisov. I get the Zemek's catalogue from Jindra Parik's pages some time ago, but unfortunately those images are not available today, so I am attaching the image from catalogue instead of the original link.
Thanks again for very promising starting point for further investigation!
