Title: Cranberry cut overlay help dating please
Post by: brucebanner on August 21, 2016, 09:38:00 PM
Any thoughts would be welcome on this one. The first time i have seen a colour on the interior of glass and cut on the turned over rim with a clear outer coating, would this have been difficult to make and any thoughts to an age, a polished pontil and measures 8 inches in height.

Regards Chris.

Lovely and unusual piece. Getting the colour on the inside is straightforward. They just blow a small bubble of colour into a larger bubble of clear. If you hold it to the light you may find tiny dots of colour missing. This is how these were created http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=1473
