Title: Signed Mdina paperweight with added illegible mark
Post by: Anne E.B. on August 24, 2016, 02:58:22 PM
Any ideas what this second mark reads please?  Not sure if its meant to be a number or not.
Its a weird p.w. with splodges and something I've not come across before for Mdina, but a nice little addition to my collection.   Some of the light grey splodges, not seen so much on this view though, look almost furry like - or like bacteria under a microscope :D
TIA :)

I would strongly suspect somebody with a dremel couldn't decide whether the write Mdina or IoW, so they wrote both.

The bright pink is not a Mdina colour, neither is that strong green.
I don't think the weight is modern Chinese, I don't know what it is though. Sorry, Anne. :-*

It is.  :)
The splodges sort of hang, suspended, inside it. It's not really like plain Mdina splodgy, which is a bit more all on the surface.

Strangely,  that pink and green do sometimes crop up in Mtarfa glass though.
