Title: Boda Erik Hoglund ? Identification & age
Post by: PaulFitz on August 24, 2016, 09:47:59 PM
Hi,could anyone please help on the id and age of this decanter. It measures 14h by 13w cms.The writing seems to be B.d. H 210.I am thinking the dots are an o and a.Sorry about the photos showing it unclean but it was far worse than this yesterday,i will have another go.
Over here in NZ,Erik`s son,Ola has a studio and his early work is very similar to this, not surprising though as he did work at Boda and initially thought it was one of his pieces.
Any info on whether this is definitely Boda and approximate age would be great.
Cheers Paul.

Yes definitely Boda and Erik Hoglund, engraved Boda H 210, designed in the 1950s but production may have continued into the 60s I guess.

Couple more examples below.

Hi John,
thank you for your clarification of my bottle, another great find in the recycling centre over here in NZ.Only yesterday snapped up a Hadeland BM cheese bell & teak base.It is amazing people are throwing some great pieces away.
Love your bottles as well, even though the face on the last one looks quite scary,a bit like me after too many schnapps.
Thanks again for your help.
Cheers Paul.

The cheese bell sounds like a really good find, lovely shape and practical too...
