Title: Help - Green jug with inlaid olives/coin pattern
Post by: chasdevlin on August 25, 2016, 06:17:16 PM
Hi
I'd like any ideas on this emerald jug. it is about 6 inches high and 19 inches in circumference. It has a distinctive olives/coin/hobnail inlaid pattern on the main body. There is a scratch at the bottom where the pontil has been removed and the base is smooth (the photo of this hasn't come out great but in truth there's not much to see).
It really is a pretty colour when the light shines through it and is a nicely crafted piece. I've got little idea on maker or age though..the closest things I've seen to it are some Blenko jugs, but I don't know how easily found they are in the UK. As I'm a bit lost on this one I'd love to hear some thoughts. Cheers.
