Title: Single flower on clear ground - Chinese?

I got this paperweight as part of a lot of miscellaneous items at an auction recently. I'm very new to paperweights, although my father has a few that I always admired. I have seen some photos of Boston and Sandwich or Clichy paperweights that had a single flower on a clear ground, but I think the quality of this weight is not good enough for it to be either of those makers. I just joined the forum, but I've already looked at it enough to think that you'll probably say this is Chinese.  ;) Is that correct?

As you can probably see in the photos, there are a lot of bubbles, which make a sort of uber-bubble at the level of the flower. (Sorry, I don't know paperweight terminology.) There is some crazing to the surface of the glass. There is enough shelfware on the bottom that I think it's fairly old. Anyway, I like it.

Hi.  Yes - Chinese.  Probably 1930 - 1940 period.  You sometimes find similar pieces on very well made spiral cushions.  Flower colurs vary - red, yellow, white combinations for the petals - much less common are blue.
