Oh no, more glass.
For Auld Lang Syne, er, seems to be some kind of song. I've seen this hand shake someware before, don't know where, don't know when. There are some nice looking thistles on it and the quality seems good. I Paid a whopping 50p for it.

Okay, so this is probably Sowerby purple agate (not sure), but is this a usual shape or was it done with many shapes? I paid a genuine £1 coin for it.

Czeck or French perhaps? They all have a polished base rim. I paid 50p for all of them.

Any clues please?

For what its worth I think the Auld Lang Syne is Greener and the second looks like Davidson cloud glass although I don't recognize the design and pass on the third.
But I'm usually wrong!!!
Cheers Doris

Thanks, the Auld Lang Syne doesn't seem to be very common upon googling, I found nothing. It's not in my Bagley book so it's probably not Bagley.
As for the Cloud glass, Sowerby and Davidsons seem to have similar shapes but the givaway might be the fact that my bowl looks kind of milky white.

Anthony, I feel so proud for you for today's bargains ! Which one here is the blue envy emoticon please? :D :D :D
-
Your cloud 1379 should be worth another photo from the underside please?!
-
Thanks Pamela. :D
Here's a view of the base, the base rim has been ground flat.

I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment, I'm getting my new wooden floor laid so I might be away one or two days.
Anne (of Yobunny), is this bowl not the same shape as your teal bowl that I've just spotted on your site?
-
Yes TC, it looks the same shape as mine. No idea who made it though as it has no label.
-
Perhaps the green bowls are recent, there is only a little bit of ware to the base of the large one.
I guess the cloud bowl must be Sowerby as I don't think Davidsons used purple agate. It has the usual grinding chips on the base rim. It could be something recent though.
It probably isn't as collectable either as it doesn't look as impressive as Davidsons Cloud glass.
-
TC if you drop Chris Stewart a line and ask him to look at the cloud dish he'll probably be able to tell you about it.
-
Hi All,
Yes the 'cloud glass' dish is Sowerby. Davidson did make a similar dish (not sure who copied whom!!), but this type of opaque purple cloud is a Sowerby colour.
Regards
Chris

Thanks Chris, much appreciated. :D

Chris, if you're still reading this thread, can I ask if, in your opinion, my teal one is Sowerby or Davidson please? Thanks. :)

I had 3 pieces in this colour - one is the compote http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-6 that TC also has a small matching bowl for, and another which sadly cracked was like the first one above but with the longer sides folded up to make a boat shape.
-
The compote http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-6 is Sowerby Tyneside, see http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34376.0.html
