I need some help please - I'm looking for a specific reference in there and to know if there is a photograph accompanying the reference.
I have hundreds of books but not this one... anyone willing to help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Anne - have found the reference wording I need though, and don't want to pay that much for one photograph because it's probably not an image of what I need.
I just wondered if someone had it and could tell me what the image on a particular page is as online reference doesn't show the image, but does the relevant wording. The image could be of any number of things on the page prior if you see what I mean.

ah, I've found the photo references as well now :) of course it shows every item discussed in the list APART from the one item I'm interested in seeing a photo of.

thanks Kev, but I realised from the wording that what I'm looking for has no picture and then I found the images and lo, it's not there.
I've ordered another book that is specific to what I'm looking for and will have the picture in.

Thanks M - nothing has come through yet. However, as you've found out, I got the books muddled and it was a PDF of Apsley Pellat's book that I have, but I do have an original copy of The Principles of Glass-Making by Powell, Chance and Harris, which also has plenty of illustrations.

But don't worry, that's not a problem. And I do have Apsley Pellatt but thank you.
I have the pictures I need I just wondered where they might have originated - I don't think they've come from Powell but they might have done (long shot)
Kev ... I would really appreciate if you could look something up for me please? but now I'm not sure if my message system through the board is working and don't want to publicise my request on the board whilst I'm trying to research it.

M, you can email via the board by using the wee envelope icon below a name, but the private message system is one way only - Moderators to Members. Hope that helps.

I also sent a message to m via the envelope, but she didn't respond until I posted. I did get your mail "Hi David,
that's very generous of you..." and sent the PDF back as a reply, but you say you never received this (even if it was the wrong book!)?

I'm really sorry I haven't received any message from you at all. I hope you didn't think I was ignoring you :-[ and no, still nothing has come through.
I sent one message to you via the envelope saying 'That's very generous ...' but didn't hear anything back on email at all. The only posts I've seen have been those on this thread.
Sorry for causing hassle, but perhaps there is something wrong with the envelope system for you sending things by reply?

You can't send attachments via the internal email system. It is intended to be a means to make contact with a member which can then be continued directly by personal email. If you get an email from someone via the board and click reply please check where that reply is going to - if it has an address at glassmessages.com then you need to change it to the address of the person contacting you, as replies cannot be sent via the board's system or a glassmessages.com address. This is an anti-spam measure.

FYI I did not send any attachment to m via the internal mail system. I waited until she emailed me and then I replied accordingly with the attachment.

hmm, this is very odd. David I'm sorry, I really hope you don't think I'm ignoring any emails but I haven't received anything from you and also, strangely, whilst I am getting email alerts from other posts on the board (a Leerdam one for example) I've not received an email alert that you've posted on this thread, so I'm only realising you've posted if I log into the GMB and then also go to the British glass board if you see what I mean?

Hi m, it sounds as though your internet provider's email system is marking David's emails as Spam for some reason but allowing other folks through.
I sometimes get this happening with btinternet - even when other emails from the same source have been treated as ok. You probably need to sign in to the provider's web version of email and check the Spam folder at their end.

Don't worry m, I knew you weren't ignoring me although I did feel it was a little strange when you didn't reply in your usual punctual way :)

mm, I don't know what to do about that. I've checked my spam box and there's nothing in there.
I will have a think.
I might have to wait until I'm back on my own laptop though as currently using son's and don't want to mess anything up on this one.
