I think this is another not listed anywhere.
6 inches in total length, 2 1/2 inches in height and 4 1/4 inches in depth.

lozenge opposite Sowerby mark

It would appear to be Sowerby pattern 1462 butter (minus its lid), as shown on page 7 of pattern book XI (1885). Shame that the lid is missing, but still a nice piece. I can't recall seeing an example of this pattern before.
The lozenge is for 2 December 1879 - Parcel 21, which covers the Sowerby bundle RD 343724 to 343731 inclusive. Of those 8 design registrations, only two (RD 343724 and RD 343725) are for butter dishes.
Jenny Thompson (page 33) describes RD 343724 as "Round butter and cover", and RD 343725 simply as "Butter", so it seems likely that pattern 1462 corresponds to RD 343725 rather than RD 343724.
I don't have a reference photo for another butter dish pattern bearing this lozenge, so Paul is the most likely source of definitive information to confirm the correct correlation between the pattern numbers and their design representations in this case.

I agree, it's a good looking piece and I'm sure scarce - big shame not having the lid. Here is the original factory drawing, courtesy of those very helpful people at Kew, to whom a big thanks as always for their support and permission for me to continue to ferret around in the National Archives.
Again, Fred's assumption that this would be Rd. 343725 was correct - he really is very good - I just take the pix - Fred actually does know what he's talking about. :)

I can now tweak the Sowerby and GMB RD databases on the Glass Queries Gallery with the definitive RD and Sowerby pattern number correlation.
Isaac Newton, the great mathematician, physicist and astronomer, said, "If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants", and any glimmers of light that I can shine into the darker recesses of 19th century British glass design registrations are only possible with guidance based on the hard work and dedication of so many ground-breaking previous researchers (Thompson, Murray, Cottle, Slack, Lattimore, the Stewarts, the Thistlewoods, etc., etc.) and selfless assistance of you supportive GMB members.

I can't stand modest people - the general consensus of opinion must surely be that he was the cleverest guy up to the C17 ;D ;D
