Post by: Dubarry on October 30, 2016, 03:29:56 AM
Greetings from Downunder again!

I have this pink vase I believe may be Sklo Union but I can find no reference, having searched many sites. Can any members help with identification of this, please?  Measurements are Height: 210mm (8.25"), diameter at rim: 140mm (5.5"), weight 1.8kg.

Many thanks

Barry

Hello,

I've seen this vase before and I've checked. If I'm not mistaken, it's illustrated in the Hermanova Hütte catalogue pre '58, page 10, model nr 18753 but I'm sure somebody else will confirm this.

Many thanks to both Annes for your speedy response and information.  I will follow up on it tomorrow.  Hope I can find the relevant catalogue!

Thanks again,
Barry

Many thanks to the third Anne for further confirmation, and greetings from Downunder!  This must be a "Day for all Annes" on GMB!  I must admit, Anne, that I have been busy on the internet trying to find the catalogue in question without any success.  Are you seeing it on the internet or is the catalogue listed in Marcus Newhall's book "Art Before Industry"?  I may have to find a copy!

Thank you so much for all the interest - I await your confirmation that I may have to go "book shopping"!!

Kind regards to all of the Annes for your help,

Barry

Us Annes are staging a takeover, Barry!  ;D  (PS My hubbie is a Barry too.)

The catalogue is on the CD that comes with the Newhall book. You should be able to find the book on Amazon - if you use the Amazon search box at the bottom of the board and put Marcus Newhall in it, it should come up as the first result. Also by using the search box the board gets a wee commission on any purchase you make on that visit to Amazon that helps pay for the board's hosting service.   8)

Hope this helps. :)

Many thanks Anne, I will do that!  You are a night owl!!

I put in another request for information on our Holmegaard "Royal Yacht" glasses with a monogram but unfortunately have not had the response the pink vase achieved. I was shocked to discover Peter Harder passed away last April and his contribution to GMB will be sadly missed.

Kind regards
Barry
