Title: Opaline Trumpet Vase - 20 " - Enamelled Flowers and Gilding
Post by: Gowdod on November 09, 2016, 10:18:00 PM
Dear All,

Opaline. 20 " tall, 5 3/4" at mouth 5 1/2 " at base. Two piece, base to 5 1/2" Trumpet 14 1/2". Tall and slender. Enameled flowers spiraling up the vase. Gilding to base and rim.

So as before my first thoughts are Victorian; then French, Stourbridge, or Moser/Bohemian.

Flowers are often a give away;  to those horticulturally minded.  :)

I have seen similar decoration on Baccarat piece ( see below  :)  ... I wished  )  however they had a whiter opaline.

So am I heading in the right direction?

With Kind Regards

Andrew

This is a nice fit to the enamels on the Baccarat piece.
