Thanks for sharing the photos Angela, it is a total mystery to me, but I do like it very much! :)

Maybe Boom, Belgium? If you google "Boom, Belgium, glass" you will find out more. I wonder if the tray is really a part of it....

Wow thank you...just checked that company and think you could be right...never heard of them before...will do some more research on that tip off

Eugénie, thank you for that suggestion, it looks promising! :)

Nice set Simba! Thanks also to Eugenie. Interesting website Anne, lots to look at.
I have a partial set in a yellow amber, and have also seen it in pale green.

Which is, curiously, listed as WALTHER & SOHNE ART DECO BLUE FROSTED GLASS GORLITZ VANITY BOUDOIR SET. Any idea what Gorlitz refers to?

None, but Google tells me Gorlitz is a town in Saxony, Eastern Germany, on the border with Poland.

Gorlitz is one of Walthers pattern names, they also use it for a bowl and I think a flower frog for their centrepieces.

Well now you've pointed that out it seems obvious, as Walther named many of their patterns after places, thanks NevB.

The Walther Gorlitz pattern is nothing like the trinket set in this topic though... see catalogue page on Pamela's excellent website HERE (https://www.glas-musterbuch.de/VEB-Sachsenglas-1965.73+B6YmFja1BJRD03MyZwcm9kdWN0SUQ9Mjc1MyZwaWRfcHJvZHVjdD03MyZkZXRhaWw9.0.html)

This is another example of what I alluded to on the "Wyndham" thread. Looking at Walther on ebay yesterday there is also a Sowerby set no. 2638 being sold as Walther. Sellers seem to be loath to do any research themselves, all to often relying on another example on the site and accepting whatever that listing says without question.
As to why this Boom set is named "Gorlitz", not so long ago another piece named as "Gorlitz" caught my eye on ebay (possibly a lidded trinket bowl?). I thought at the time "That doesn't look like Walther at all" and passed it by. Possibly whatever that was (it's now dropped off the "Completed" listings page so I can't find it), it possibly looked like this mis-named blue set.
Sadly, there seems to be much more copying and hence more mis-named pieces on ebay. To be safe I disregard many of the ascriptions on ebay and etsy unless I either know them to be correct or can verify them elsewhere. These days IMO almost everything that is written about glass on these sites is best taken with a pinch of salt, so much is pure guess-work.

And that is the main reason I set up the GTS website, to provide verified IDs for patterns. :)
