Hello All,
I'm a new member to your great glass message board. I have a paperweight that I am curious about. It is about 2-1/2 inches in diameter and about 2 inches in height. The canes are on clear glass and remind me of Murano canes, but are more complex than any Murano canes that I have seen before. If this is a Murano paperweight, is there some maker who used these complex canes?
Thanks for any advice that you can give me.
Regards

I think that they are Murano canes, but I suspect that they date to the late 19th - early 20th century. I cannot help with which specific factory though.

Thank you Alan for this prompt response!

With a quick glance I can't see an obvious match but something about them reminds me of these canes believed to be from Avem (just added some more examples to the topic): http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,59597.0.html
How is the base of your paperweight finished?

Thank you for your response, John. The base of the paperweight is flat and smooth with no rim. I am posting a photo of the bottom of the weight. Thanks again!
