Hi. Hope someone can help. I've just been browsing on the web for a piece of Exbor and have just found this. Acid stamped on the base and signed KUSAK. I've downloaded the image of the base on the site which shows what looks like a ground out polished pontil with the EXBOR stamp inside. I don't think I've seen this before - but then again I'm not that experienced - is it normal / genuine? Any guidance much appreciated.
Mod: Image removed, see further down the topic for link to view it.

Is this not your own pic, Sean? If so it needs to be removed as per board policy on use of 3rd party images. You can replace it with a link to the original image though.
-
Hi Anne. It's a 3rd party image so how do I substitute it for a link. Also the link is to an Etsy site that is selling the vase - is that allowed?
-
Hi Sean, thanks for the reply. If you would post the link in a reply below that would be fine, and I will remove the image for you. Linking to anyone else's sale item asking for info about it is perfectly acceptable on the board.
Just for clarification:
If it's an item which you are offering for sale then we request you to ask about it before listing it for sale so it's not promoting your sale within the ID forums. You can of course post about any item you are selling yourself in the Market Place forum, but if you post an ID request in there then it's not likely to get much a response, hence ask first then list. Hope that all makes sense. :)
Incidentally, the same mark appears on our Czech glass marks album here:

Hi Anne, thanks for the clarification and the link to the image you have.

hi, you can do a GMB search of Kusak, it is a retailer of glass including fine Czech glass, in Seattle. It was selling Czech glass even in 1949. They often used to mark the glass they imported Kusak. This nice vintage Exbor vase is one such example, probably from the 1960's.

Thanks for posting the link Sean. I've deleted the original image.

Thanks for the confirmation Robert - really appreciated. The signature and base completely threw me. Thanks Anne for sorting out the images. All I need to do now is persuade someone about the ideal Christmas present for me.
