Hello there, maybe its Strathearn or maybe its Vasart ltd. Any ideas please.

Hi. My vote would be for late Vasart...but those are so similar to early Strathearn!

My opinion - this is Strathearn - based on the canes being set into the glass and not "standing proud". Vasart did not have a gory hole to reheat the paperweight and work the surface. But elsewhere I thought Alan Thornton had said that Strathearn twists were mostly white. If so, this would make the paperweight an early Perthshire.

Many Strathearn weights have coloured twists.
But if a weight similar to the one here has white twists then a general rule of thumb is "start thinking Strathearn" - and then check all other features.
On balance I agree that this weight is (probably) Strathearn because of the flush-to-the-ground canes and the fire polished base finish. If it had a ground base finish I would put it in the "transitional" category of late Vasart or early Strathearn - even with the flush canes.

Thanks for the clarification Kevin.
