Just wondered about this Mdina vase I picked up. Any info welcome

Tortoiseshell.  :)
The script puts it to the time they started using a vibrating tool, into the '80s but these would often have the thinner sort of script consistent with the '70s.

I don't know when they stopped making Tortoiseshell, but it does appear to have faded out, reasonably early on.
There seems to be a lot more Earthtones around than Tortoiseshell.

I am becoming increasingly fond of Tortoiseshell as the years go by - it's not just "brown stuff" is it?

The brown colour was created by the addition of silver nitrate to red glass, so there are often reds coming through, it's a warm and glowing sort of brown you end up with, and with lots of movement.

My favourite Fish vases are the triangular Tortoiseshell ones.
