Title: Big, signed colorless glass heart vase -- Murano? Scandinavian?
Post by: raibos on December 12, 2016, 08:06:46 PM
Looking for any opinions on a large (9.5" tall) heavy (~11 pounds) heart shaped colorless glass vase, etched signature on the bottom as shown.  Looks Scandinavian to me, but maybe Murano?  I showed the signature right side up and upside down, not sure which is correct.  L. SOOD001?  L. 800D001?  As always, any help appreciated.

Hi, the sig is the right way up in your first photo - I think it reads 800B001

Hopefully someone will be along who can help.  It looks Scandinavian but I don't know anything about Scandinavian glass and my quick searches (Orrefors and Kosta Boda marks) have not thrown up anything to help.

Just a snippet of random information that I have from Leslie Pina's 'Fifties Glass' says that Kosta pieces designed by Vicke Lindstrand are often signed with the letter L followed by a code.
This could be a possibility.  Someone might know what the number code refers to if this is so.
