This is a butterfly with a red aventurine body and a green aventurine head. The antenna are brown or black. Yhe wings are pink with millefiori centers. The butterfly floas over a white latticinio basket. I would like to know when this weight was made and how many.

Hi. The complex canes in the wings look rather like the ones in Caithness jewellery, so I suspect this may be a mid 1960s to mid 1970s piece. It is possible it was made at Harland, by Paul himself, as part of the batches he made for Paul Jokelson - hence the PY cane (the pieces destined for the UK, and those made by his apprentices usually had the H signature cane). As for how many...they were not a 'catalogue' item or limited edition, so all we have is speculation based on how often the design turns up. I have one for sale at the moment, but I have had maybe 2 more in 10 years. So not common!
