7 inches tall with a gilt interior, silvered finish still in good condition, loads of wear with palm trees, very festive ::) ;D ;D
-
is the disc still intact?
Did you see my post on Christmas treats from Germany? ( :-[ you didn't comment)
I put a link on there to a mercury glass page on the GMB.
I like it - I like the ones with the gilded interior (mine has this - looks fab on display)

Just had a look, sorry :-[ beautiful decorations, had some similar many years ago, what happened to them I have no idea, can't put anything out like tinsel due to our 'eat anything he sees' chihuahua ::) the goblet is very similar to mine and yes the disc is missing, as usual ::) ;D ;D
-
oh shame about the disc. Mine is there fortunately but you can carefully put a cork bung in the base and that will stop the silver deteriorating any further. Or probably even just seal it up with a bit of sellotape - at least that will stop the silver worsening.
I think yours is probably Bohemian.

Thanks for the tip about using a cork, now I've got one somewhere, I think ::) ;D ;D
-
just seen in one of my books that some similar silvered glass was produced in the States - 'some with bands of painted roses' - toward the end of the C19 .................. but I guess you know more accurately about this one.
There's a Max Miller joke about a lady and her Chihuahua ........... but can't tell it here :'(
-
yes I did think of the US versions Paul when I saw the palm tree , good point.
Worth looking into.

I doubt you'll get an id, but Bohemian makers did do palm trees :)
I think it is a Bohemian piece

welcome - I think it's probably better to use wax to seal it btw.
