Title: Talking of Webb Iris
Post by: flying free on January 09, 2017, 08:43:39 PM
I've not seen this shape before so thought I'd add it here as a link.
It's marked on the base as well.
Very curious about these pieces.  I've had three in the same iridescence, very fine, beautiful, beautifully made, none marked. Still don't know if they are Webb Iris or not.

It's a curious thing - Thomas Webb made the iridescent bronze and the Webb Iris. I think Iris came not long after.  The Bronze is I think usually described as Green based glass (not sure if that has transpired to be a definitive though), the Webb Iris is orange iridescent on clear, what happened to them producing other colours?  Did they ?
