Title: Scottish paperweight - which era please? #5 Black/orange
Post by: josordoni on January 27, 2017, 04:46:13 PM
I have recently bought a batch of paperweights which I am certain are all Scottish, from the Ysart/Strathearn stable. I would very much appreciate your help in correctly identifying the era that these were made in.

There are quite a few, so I beg your indulgence. All pictures are hosted in my Scottish paperweights gallery on the Glass Queries Gallery.

This is black and orange with multi colour spokes, flat in profile and quite dark

Many thanks

My guess: Could be Ysart Brothers period - but needs a shortwave uv check to confirm.

Thanks Kevin, I only have an ordinary UV for checking restoration and uranium which I think is longwave?

Yes, regular uv lights (aka blacklight) are longwave.
