A lovely ebay buy for a couple of quid, i think it has some age, really well made with a rough pontil and measures 9 inches in height.
Any thoughts welcome regards Chris.

My tummy thinks it's too thick for Hartley Wood.
What I've seen and handled, not that it's a lot, has been fairly finely blown and can be prone to little bubbles.
But it does look quite "tartan-y". :)
Also, I don't think white was used. I may well be completely wrong! ;D

Doesn't look like Hartley Wood either newer or older to me. Very pretty though
-
It looks too thick to me too and the swirls don't look quite streaky enough, and I couldn't find anything near a shape match :(
Nice colours though - how much does it weigh?

745 grams the glass is about 5mm thick
-
hmm, mines 12" tall and weighs about 1250 and I wouldn't say the rim was 5mm thick.
Yours is 9" tall and only weighs 745 gms but appears to be thicker glass.
Yours seems quite light for 9" tall and with a 5mm rim by comparison to mine. I know one can't id a vase on that but it doesn't feel right.
Is the base indented quite a lot? it doesn't appear so from the pics? the pontil mark doesn't look like mine really either. But that might be neither here nor there.

Yes it's indented by 10mm in the interior so about 5 or 6 mm on the outer base
-
difficult - like Sue and Christine, I don't think it's right - too many things not quite right.
-
The upper rim has a lip on the inner surface very small but you can just feel it.
Thanks for your help all, for now has pride of place on my favourite sunlit shelf .

I have seen them use white, but in the more modern pieces, which are marked on the pontil scar.
I've had two pieces of Hartley Wood and, whilst the pontil scar was visible, yours is just different (hard to explain), it's just not 'soft' enough.
I could be totally wrong, as I am no expert at all, just an observation based on the pieces I had.
Its a lovely piece!

I agree with Della about the pontil mark, and I noticed that when I checked mine ... but I didn't like to say anything in my previous post (all felt a bit too negative :) )
