Title: Dino Martens Lamp?
Post by: brucebanner on February 26, 2017, 07:55:50 PM
I'm sure this is from the 50's due to the wiring and lamp fitting, the rust and dirt when i took it apart.

The glass is 12 inches in height and the whole thing 24 inches in height, the base looks poorly cast as does the the stand.

The glass on the rim and base has be left rough cut.

Several online described as being designed by Dino Martens but is it?.

Any thoguht's welcome regards Chris.

I would say that it is Dino Martens in My opinion.  I have seen this called things like : mezza filigrana // Mezza-Filigrana Bianca Nera //  Fasce Bianco Nero design, but I myself am not sure of the correct words.  Just have seen these swirls by him in these colors.

Something like it  CLICK HERE  (http://www.swanklighting.com/shop/vintage-murano/pair-of-vintage-murano-black-tie-lamps/) AND ALSO  * HERE  (https://www.google.ca/search?q=Dino+Martens+Filigrana+Murano+Lamps&biw=1366&bih=662&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjKwd2mnbbSAhWE64MKHSTbAk4Q_AUIBigB)

I am thinking it is genuine as well. All though there are many copies of his designs out there, you do not see the quality of the swirls and the balance at the bottom this one has. A gorgeous piece of glass and a keeper in my world.
