This bowl is good quality with a mottled nature similar to WMF Ikora in nature, but much later I suspect. It has a subtle blue tinge to the rim and measures 34,5cm in diameter. It has a distinct engraved signature to the polished base which I cannot really make into anything. Part of the signature could read "Pauly" however it could just as easily end with "by" opening up Scandinavian possibilities. I would appreciate any help I can get with this long term mystery. Thank you in advance,

I can't get your images to blow up, but what about Hardy?
It does look like a more modern studio piece, and it's very competent and attractive.

I'm sorry the photos don't blow up. I can't get them to load if I don't reduce the image size to less than 125kb. Or am I doing something wrong please? My images are 1.5 - 3mb. I am reducing them so they upload. Is there a utility whereby images are uploaded showing only a thumbnail which opens to a large image when clicked?
The bowl was purchased at a German flea market about 15 years ago if that means anything. Thanks again.

You can use www.befunky.com to reduce the size or post them to Facebook if your on it and save them to your computer, 90% of the time Facebook reduces the pictures to posting quality.

Reducing image size - and therefore Kb size, is covered in our thread: TECHIE TIPS: Resizing images to fit the board (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34093.0.html)
If Chris's option does not suit, try the folllowing:
http://www.picresize.com/ - simple to use and, with a resized image to around 700 pixels for the longest side, will usually reduce the Kb size to within the Board requirements without much loss of quality.
The Board automatically produces thumbnail images for pics larger than, say, 800 pixels longest side - as long as the Kb size is less than 125 Kb. When clicked, the thumbnail will open in a new window.

I have resized two of the three photos again - unfortunately it wasn't possible with the third image. I hope this is better. Thank you for your patience. Stuart

I wondered if it might say Vl Vransky? There is a Vladimir Vransky who is listed as being in Pieťany in Slovakia, under trade Sklo brúsené which seems to translate to Cut glass or Glass cutter, but I can't find a website or other source that gives more examples of what he did.

Thank you Anne. I will take a look in that direction. Stuart
