Title: Putting the CAT in SunCATchers - possibly American.
Post by: Pinkspoons on March 16, 2017, 11:37:43 PM
These kitty-themed suncatchers came from a recent house clearance in Copenhagen, but there seems to be a number of them specifically on American sites, after a bit of searching. Almost every seller attributes them to Blenko, but I've not managed to find any evidence for it myself.

There's five of them, which seems to be a full set, all with different designs and colours.

Any help gratefully received.

Saw a set of these last Sunday at an antiques fair in Stafford. The seller buys exclusively from Denmark.

;) Did the two of you meet without knowing it?

These are very nice Nic. Very Siamese-y, Eastern, elegant, long limbed sort of beasts depicted.
Are there any of stocky, Northern, long-haired cats?

Ha. If it's the same seller, he lives a few miles away from me - so I don't have to traipse to fairs.

No, all the kitties are tall and slender - almost Egyptian-looking in their poses, some of them.

I found a set along the same theme on eBay, originally sold through the Boston Museum of Fine Arts - but with clunkier, less elegant, designs and slightly different colours (no two-tone orange/yellow, just orange).

The aqua-coloured kitty seems to have had its leg broken! :(
