Title: Unusual Onion Shape Glass Vase??

Reminded me of the mdina glass onion vases thinking it maybe Chinese but does have some quality? it is 1.7 kg and measures 10" tall and 7.5" wide at the base it has a bit of a trail and a neat polished pontil scar and fair amount of wear.

Perhaps Peter Layton?
It looks a bit Mdina-ish, but that very fine neck is more of PL's take on this sort of thing.
