Title: Tall Murano Couple
Post by: petet63 on March 22, 2017, 11:21:33 AM
I have this piece I picked up a week ago. Search efforts show similar pieces but with different bases and, as is with hand made pieces, slight differences. I would appreciate any help. I am apparently one of the few that likes this piece.

Does anyone have an email address of someone that might help identify this. Looking for Murano email does not help me and there are a few of them!

This design is often called 'lovers' or 'entwined lovers'.
There are many makers in lots of colours and sizes. Ferro Lorenzo, Ragazzi, Badioli, Barbaro, Ballerin to name just a few.
I don't recognise the round base in association with any of the above names (usually its a column pedastel in white or black or an 'integrated' foot.)
It's like a more contemporary and chique version of the Murano Clown or baroque dancing couple and nowadays a popular purchase for visitors.

Quality and prices are very diverse. So if you ARE in Murano, look carefully and choose an example that has clear detail and no flaws.
