Title: Monart vase hopefully maybe shape EF?.

Ive been after this for a while (i'm sure Keith has seen it), i think it could be shape EF but the size is wrong as it's 8 1/2 inches in height, looks like there are three mould lines in the base.

Any thought's welcome regards Chris.

The foot on yours looks deeper than the one illustrated, but the glass itself looks absolutely right to me. :)
Sizes were approximate, their facilities were very primitive and glass making had to accommodate the vagaries of those.

I'm not good at ages of Monart. :'(
Strathearn was moulded, Monart free-blown. This is a bit wonky, free-blown.
Their annealling ovens were not brilliant and they were working in a draughty wooden shed, they had a lot of trouble controlling the temperatues when cooling, hence a bit of wonky. (and the other Monart problem of turning itself into jig-saws if stored somewhere cold)

Definately Monart  :)

Aging, without labels, is always difficult - if not impossible.

Certain things, like iridescent surface decorated pieces, do have known dating and can be dated without a label (very early).  Muted colours are often associated with post war pieces, but that is by no means full proof.

Therefore, unless Gary, or someone else, has recorded the colourway and it has a known period you have a problem. My hunch it has the quality of pre-war, but lets see who else pops by.........
