Wonder if anyone can identify this, please? A number of factories seem to have produced similar pieces though the base of this seems a little deeper than the examples I can see online and the exterior has bark texturing which extends down from the tree stump on which the fair maiden is seated.
16.5cm tall, nine holes.

I have several of these, I just checked them, some have bases like yours, others are plainer, I found a large one at the car boot this week at nine inches tall with a matching bowl. Got the pair for £2!! Cheryl

Thanks for that, Cheryl. It certainly is the correct pose, just the base didn't look the same as the others - most have vertical grooves or are shallow. Funnily enough I paid £2 for mine too, on Sunday, but the bowl was a Czech one. Not a bad match, though.

There's been a lot of debate about the stump lady and who made them over. with few conclusions. Only some are Sowerby and I don't think yours is. If she came in a Czech bowl it was possibly correct.

Unfortunately I think that bowl and frog have been matched at some point as the bowl has a couple of protuding 'wings' which really don't seem to match the figure, plus the frog seems too small and just slides about, so even if the bowl manufacturer is identified, it wouldn't be safe to infer that the frog had the same manufacturer.
