Title: Clear Glass Dressing Table Set
Post by: meltdown on April 19, 2017, 08:04:06 AM
Hello there, I love this dressing table set and I am thinking about purchasing them.  The large vase (the last picture) which is advertised with it doesn't appear to be the same pattern as the rest of the set, or maybe it's my eyes  ::).  If anybody could identify these please I would be most grateful.

Many thanks,

There is a a mixture of pieces.

Bagley Duchess candlesticks, lidded pots, and ringholder.

The tray is Czech; Libochovice #1690 from their 1690-1694 set.

The vase is definitley not part of either set.  The geometric design, especially the feet, screams Czech.  I'm fairly sure that it is Libochovice pattern no. 2101, shown on page 28 of their pre-1958 catalogue, but no doubt Pamela can confirm the attribution.

Wow, thank you.  Just stopped me from making an expensive mistake, at least I have some bargaining power - for armed is forewarned.

Thank you so much x

Thank you, Fred!
Would confirm only the tray is Libochovice.
No exact match found in the pattern books available here for that vase, I'm afraid. Libochovice's 2101 has got just one vertical row of diamonds and the feet are different. Also Rindskopf's catalogue of 1936 and Stölzle show similar designs. The closest match in my opinion is Stölzle Hermanova before 1958, page 16 - lidded container # 19757. There are several items in this pattern, and possibly Hermanova also produced a vase with that distinctive upper rim.

The vase is Nemsova, pattern number 5066 - I have one ID'd here several years ago: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,22647.0.html

The pots and candlesticks are Bagley Duchess pattern: http://www.glasstrinketsets.com/cms3/english/bagley/duchess-3103

The tray is Libochovice, pattern 1690: http://www.glasstrinketsets.com/cms3/czechoslovakian/libochovice/1690-1694

So it's a real mixed marriage! :)
