Title: Small Scotish weight, which maker?
Post by: glassobsessed on April 19, 2017, 01:14:47 PM
The canes seem more complex than those I tend to see in small Strathearn weights so wondering if this could be say Ysart brothers. From memory, around two inches in diameter, ground out unpolished mark on base.

Any thoughts?

Most likely Vasart.

I agree with Allan.

However, "Vasart" on its own can be confusing. The Ysart Brothers company used "Vasart" as the trading name. The later period of "Vasart" (1956 to 1964), when the company name was changed to "Vasart Ltd" is the period when I believe this weight was made.
