Title: Glass paperweight with internal ribbons
Post by: Ben.unwin on May 07, 2017, 05:10:55 PM
Bought this from a local carboot today, its extremely pretty.
It measures 3cm in height and 5cm in diameter.
Its squashed compared to having a round top.
Can anyone give me any pointers ID?

Ben

I can safely say that I have never seen another one like it.

The woman I bought it off says she got it from France at a antique fair some years ago...

Hi.  It does not look very old to me.  I suspect it is a 'small studio' product for the tourist trade - there are thousands of small glass studios around the world, and quite a few make the occasional paperweight.

It has some similarities with Zanfirico from Isle of Wight Studio Glass, don't know if it is their production or not but suspect not though. You could contact the studio and ask.
