Hi all,I don't know much about murano Scavo glass so I'm not feeling to confident about the seguso d'arte sig on the base of this piece?.There is no Pontil of any sort and it stands 6.5" ht.any thoughts? Thanks.

A firm called Cozeta makes "Old" style items in Murano and would easliy achieve that sort of effect. They use Metal Foil labels . Here is a vase I own.

It might also be Lafiore, they do stuff like this.
-
Ahh,so some unscrupulous type has put the seguso D'arte signature on the base,cheeky!..lucky it was only a quid. :)
-
Seguso as well as most of the big factories have dabbled in scavo. Also the mark looks right to me but I can't really tell for sure with the picture. Furthermore it looks like the signature was done before the salts etc was applied

Thanks TGS,it's one of those signatures that are really hard to see,I've tried flower but may need a dark stain of some sort.I sure it's meant to read seguso d'arte.

If you type in pink scavo vase in ebay a few that look similar to yours pop up, some may or may not be legit though

Looks fine for Albarelli-era SVdA - they did this shape vase in scavo and in this shade of pink (as well as blue and clear).

Here's one with an applied trail:

Thanks for all the replies I've learned a lot again. And thanks pinkspoons for showing the one with the applied trail.I've found a few on the net now and many unsigned,I guess they would have had labels originally?
-
Probably. My pink vase was without a label, but I've had one in clear with.
