I do have also these beautiful handmade wine glasses plus two pitchers, the consist of transparent and yellow glass, seem to me french but can't really say, even how old they could be. They do have tiny bubbles and I have to clean them many times because they absorb stinky chemical fluid. Must be a content of the older glass manufacturing process, I guess. Also would appreciate your help, thanks so much.

Hi - attractive, but can't see the rationale for suggesting French - unless I've overlooked something - and I'd imagine quite modern, as in the last 30 - 50 years. This amber colour is a common shade for table ware also decorative glass.
I could be wrong, but it's just possible that what you're describing is an oily or wet surface on the glass which is an example of a breakdown in the structure of the glass - a possible indication of incorrect formulation at the time of manufacture - and ultimately has the potential to create what is known as crizzling on the surface of the glass - see the various comments in this earlier thread ............... http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,395.msg1934.html#msg1934 although I'm not sure about the 'stinky' bit ;D
I think some of the Italian (Murano) glass had this problem, but that might just be my memory not working properly - it probably affected glass from a variety of sources - have to say I've not read up on this for some time.

Thanks Paul for your reply. I agree your term about the origin from Murano. Might be Glass from the 50/60s ?

I have one of those jugs too, but so far have not managed to pin it down to a maker.
