Very pleased with today's purchase. I'm guessing the remains of the oval label will have been a price ticket. This is 13.75ins tall.
-
This also has the Made in Malta label with a hand written MR/1 code on it.
-
Very nice trails of silvery iridesence around it. ;D
-
Nae bad at all Sue - on a shelf for now and maybe I'll be allowed to keep it :D
-
Great find, not that many of them around.
Would agree the oval label probably for price at some time, saying that, also wondering if it might be from an outlet selling glass in Valletta - have we seen oval labels marked Valletta before?

Nice piece, Boffo I think. Interesting scribed signature on the base, can you possibly put a clearer pic of that up pls?
-
I hadn't noticed that, :-[ it looks as if it might be Michael Harris' writing.
-
Indeed Sue :)
-
Whoops - I hadn't realised there had been more discussion on this. Picture here as asked and thanks for the comments.

oooh....
It's hard to tell because it blows up very big, and starts to look a bit more Marie-like, but I think it might well be Michael Harris' writing.
I think of you every time I look at my bottle now, Alastair.
There are at least two of these in Dundee, maybe we should have won the city of culture thingy, if only they'd known about us. ;D
-
Picture was just by my phone Sue as half decent camera is currently in Edinburgh. You're welcome to visit at some point to have a proper look at the bottle and one or two other bits that have found a home here since your last visit. Funnily enough, something else that is here is the sculpture that was used to promote the City of Culture bid. Stuff and things - stuff and things :D

It's not the quality of the image, it's the size it goes that makes it hard to decide completely.
I'm no handwriting expert, and don't pay as much attention to miniscule details of it as others do.
I never know when I'm going to be over your way. ::)
It sort of depends on Michael not having something better to do than take me out, and the weather being horrible, and he can normally find things to do even if it's pouring.
I'll get in touch first if I do find out, I can bring some bits with writing on, to compare. :) :)
-
One of these days then Sue :)
-
I really do need to take my barnet to Wendy to fix a bit, some time soon. I'm plucking up the courage.
-
Nice piece, Boffo I think.
I thought it would be of interest to show these bottles that are owned by a family member of Vicente Boffo.....
Cheers,
Patrick.
ps, The owner is happy I am showing these.

Fantastic iridescence on those two Patrick, many Tricorn bottles only have a minimal sort of swirl.
A photo of three more.
