Title: Russian Egg Paperweight unknown maker
Post by: msiscoe on July 10, 2017, 02:41:34 AM
Hello,

Can anyone ID the maker of this Russian egg? It bears a label with Russian but I can't read Russian...

Many thanks,

Your egg is labeled Фаберже́ which is Faberge in English, you will need a Faberge expert to determine the age and correctness of the object.

josordoni posted a similar query back in 2009 with a similar label.  You may want to read the thread  http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=8871.0 (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=8871.0)

I think this is one of the modern eggs that are for sale in many tourist shops in St Petersburg and elsewhere.  There were plenty when we visited a few years ago - I think the prices start at around US $30.00.  Where they are actually made, I do not know.

Some of the information states some of these eggs were made in Russia.
There are some makers listed in the thread.
