Title: Paperweight ID needed
Post by: The Glass Staircase on July 28, 2017, 04:13:15 PM
Hi all!

Can anyone help me ID this paperweight? It has a signature on bottom but to date I've not been able to decipher it. It is 6.5 cm in diameter and 4.5 cm high.

Thanks in advance!

Adam

Maybe M Hunter and Twists - Mike Hunter Twists Glass Studio, does not particularly look like one of his though.

I've just compared it with a Mike Hunter Twists glass signature and it does look right.
(The sig. on my "Rio" vase is tiny!)
And I agree, it doesn't look like his work, but he can do just about anything that has ever been done in glass, he's an absolute "master maker supreme", so nothing he produces should ever surprise anybody.
He had to be a beginner at some point in time. :)
I love that he uses a bone handled table knife as one of his tools. He says he; "just does what he finds works." No airs or graces at all, but his work is something else.

I was peering unsuccessfully at mine. I might need to take the sticky labels off to see if there is a signature under them.
I've never even considered that there might or might not be one. 8)
They're his lizard ones. No mistaking the work whatsoever and they were bought new.
